A Cute Children DIY Project ~ Cakes out of Bottle Caps

Reuse old bottle caps! You already saw how to make a bottle caps chandelier and a bottle caps soad dish.

Here's one delicious and colorful kids bottle caps project!

Remember that famous quote: Let them eat cakes? In this case - DON'T let them eat cakes! Let them make cakes, let them admire them and let them play with them! :)

Extra tip: you can probably use food colors for caps coloring too. Try it and report the result!

Recycle plastic bottles and give your kid an effective take-off!

We've spoken about recycling plastic bottles before. We said that they can be reused as bracelets, brooms, vases, light makers and in gardening, but we've never used them for intergalactic trips. Until now.

More about this rocket project - at this place

Extra tip: join your kid - make also a rocket for yourself and plan your trip!

DIY recycling: from a detergent jag to an african mask

Here's a great & fun idea on how to reuse old detergent jags! You can play with your kids and make your very own africa influenced masks and even a totem pole!

For other important instructions click here.

Extra tip: as you can see in the first picture, these "masks" don't have to be african. You can play and search for some interesting portret and then try to make it out of a jag. Or maybe you could start with a family photo!

A simple DIY project: old cans for an old game

Reuse some old cans and fool around with (or without) your kids!

Upcycling cans is pretty easy in this story, check it out.

Extra tip: try out different cans sizes and let us know how does it feel!

A simple upcycling - from ice cream sticks to a fun puzzle

Don't throw away ice cream sticks - wash them, dry them and reuse them!

This is a simple idea for repurposing ice cream sticks. You will need several sticks and a picture/drawing. Align sticks and glue a picture on them. After the glue dries, separate ice cream sticks with a cutter and let your kid lead the game!

Extra tip: Instead of a picture or a photo you can use a napkin with some cool motive.

Reuse toys ~create a unique frame

If your kid has grown and finds his/her old toys boring - you can reuse them: refresh a picture or mirror frame!

Extra tip: this is a good idea to decorate your kid's room and to save old favorite toys only in different habitat.

Upcycle milk cartons - turn old milk cartons into cute, colorful houses

We saw how to make a bird feeder out of milk or juice carton, and here's one more easy  and cool DIY idea!

Extra tip: combine these houses with these roads and create a little town or a village.

Recycle an egg carton: out of an egg comes a chicken!

Here's a simple Easter craft idea. Reuse all those egg boxes that left behind after you have colored Easter eggs. Chickens and eggs always go together, right?

Extra tip: try using some feather for wings!

A simple DIY project - fly away with an extra large carton box!

Go to the store, get a few boxes and become a pilot!

Instructions for this simple but powerful project can be found here.

Extra tip: colors are welcome! Get some pilot's equipment or make it yourself – the glasses, cap and uniform, and of course, the control panel – and you and your child are ready for take off!

A colorful DIY project - upcycle colored pencil leftovers into a necklace!

Here's a nice spring/summer little project! Although we say little project, you'll need a hacksaw and a drill for it!

Look at those colored pencils leftovers. Pencils get smaller and smaller with frequent use, until you can’t even hold them between your fingers. What do you do with them at that point? (Write it up in the comment section!).

We bring you a fashionable suggestion!

Details at designmom.com and minieco.co.uk

Extra tip: be a true eco (and colored pencils) friend - don't hack away at a new and usable pencil!

A cute DIY Easter project with recycled toilet tubes

I believe you've noticed by yourself and don't need me to point it out, but - the bunny craziness has arrived! Not only has it arrived, it's been with us for quite some time.

For all of those bunny lovers and those if-you-can't-win-them-join-them-ers, here's a cute little DIY project! Upcycle your toilet rolls and make a giant Easter bunny family and perhaps share it with your family and friends!

You can find this spring tutorial at this place.

Extra tip: the more (colors) the merrier (the bunny)! Enjoy!

A simple DIY dustpan - upcycle an old milk jug

Here’s a simple accessory for your plastic bottle broom. It's a handy milk jug dustpan! I presume it's also legit to use a detergent jug.

See?

Extra tip: this little shovel is also a lovely toy to be used on a beach , in a sandbox or when it’s snowing.

An advanced DIY project: from an old tractor/truck tire to a private sandbox!

Here's an idea for those of you who have a garden or a yard where your sons, daughters, nephews and grandchildren like to come and play.

You can make them their own playground in your back yard, centering on a sandbox made out of a big tire filled with sand. Ask round, if you (by some chance?!) don’t have a tractor or a truck of your own.

Instructions are available here, and this is the result. Post your results in the comment section!

Extra tip: you might also want to add a sunshade, especially in the summer. An old umbrella would be just right!

A cute DIY project: upcycle an old dvd case into a little coloring set!

If you’ve decided to reorganize your dvd collection, maybe you ended up with a few empty dvd cases. Here's one possible solution  - upcycle them into a handy case for colored pencils! You can take it with you wherever you go, so you'll always be ready when inspiration strikes. Also, it will keep your kid busy on a long journey.

Extra tip: not all dvd cases are the same. A great step by step tutorial with photos can be found here, and you can also see the difference between the cases and choose the one that fits you better.

Portable DIY roads

Imagine what it would be like if you could take your roads with you where ever you go!

I mean toy roads of course, the ones used for toy cars and other toy vehicles. They can be made out of old fabric - jeans, T-shirts and the like. Your kids  can put together their own traffic combination where ever they choose, and can even carry all those roads by  themselves.

You just have to make a sketch, use some scissors and paint a dividing line.

Extra tip: Don't forget to add all sorts of curves and loops!
