Upcycle egg carton and invoke spring to your home!
Here's a fun and colorful project that you can make by yourself or with friends, kids or family.
It’s an egg wreath! Ok, not really. Eggs are necessary only because they’re in the box we need. Empty the box and put the eggs in the fridge, or wait until you’ve eaten them and then use the box.
You’ll need carton or paper for the wreath shaped base, a pair of scissors and some paint (tempera or something similar).
You’ll be making flowers out of the egg carton. You’ll then color them and glue them on the wreath base of the structure. Hang it on your door and celebrate spring! Click on the pictures for the tutorials.
This idea originated at krokotak.
Beside this awesome idea, you can make flowers out of the egg box and arrange them into a bouquet which you can then put in a vase.
Extra tip: if you haven't got a nice vase, or you want something unbreakable in case your kids knock it down, you can make a vase by yourself, out of a can, a bottle or a cardboard tube!
Upcycling: from a cereal box to a neat folder
If you’re one of those people who eat healthy by which I mean, you regularly eat cornflakes and cereal, you probably have quite a collection of cereal boxes.
You need one box for one magazine folder! You’ll need a pair of scissors and wrapping paper.

Find more details at this place.
Extra tip: if you’re extremely eco-friendly and a recycling freak, you can use an old newspaper or a magazine instead of wrapping paper. The folder won't be that nice, but well, every man to his taste. Feel free to post a photo of your folder!
A DIY bird feeder made of recycled milk and juice cartons
It’s still cold outside! Help your feathered neighbors by making them a cheap recycled feeder, and have fun thereat. To upcycle a milk or juice carton, the basic things you need are a carton (yes!), a pair of scissors, glue, paint or colored papers and an ice cream stick or a branch.
The first example is from parents.com (parents know best, right?).

They decorated their feeder with colorful little buttons. And check out that roof!
The next example is a cheerful family project, which you can find at rythmofthehome :

Extra tip: maybe it would be wise to coat the carton with some waterproof material, such as plastic wrap. It can be decorated with colors or transparent, and you can just add it after you’ve finished decorating your bird feeder.
Cardboard tubes & wall art
Cardboard tubes (toilet paper rolls, toilet tubes) probably fill up a significant part of anybody’s trash can. There are infinite possibilities for repurposing that unsightly part of our bathroom inventory.
Here's one of them: you can flatten the tubes and cut them into smaller pieces. These can then be used as petals which you glue together to make different shapes.
Take a look at these examples:
1) a simple, abstract shape - tutorial available at Growing up creative
2) a chubby flowery shape - by myrtle&eunice

3) square shaped decorations:

4) an enriched form: petals glued to a colored paper or cardboard. Branches are optional!
By Revolutionaries blog :

5) the same technique can be used to decorate smaller surfaces such as a photo frame, as seen on spoonful.com

Extra tip: if you want to color bigger areas in one color, it would be easier to use spray paint than a brush.
